The West Point FFA Chapter has been very active already this school year with fundraising activities and community service projects.   They are getting into all of the activities and contests to come this year and are ready to start.

The chapter was busy getting ready for the Cuming County Fair. To help the fair board
prepare, the chapter volunteered to help clean the fairgrounds the week before the fair started. During the fair was another busy time for the chapter. While running a lemonade stand and dunking booth, the FFA chapter also had time to have their own booth. The booth contained some of the chapter members’ projects and homegrown foods. The dunking booth was something new that the chapter added this year during the fair.  People could come up and dunk the FFA member of their choice. Overall, the members of the chapter enjoyed working at the fair and all the success they had with their fundraising.

In this semester, the West Point FFA Chapter will be preparing for several contests.  In October, the chapter will be competing in the area Land Judging Contest. However, the big contest that the chapter is starting to prepare for is the District Leadership Skills Events.   At this contest, members will compete in speaking contests, Parliamentary Procedure, and ag demonstration contests.

The West Point FFA Chapter is ready to get underway with all of the contests and conventions this year. They are hoping to have a successful year at all of their contests and to have fun and enjoy all of the events.
