NE: Northwest FFA Great Accomplishments
12/14/2007 11:43:12 AM

Do you realize all the effort put into the lives of FFA members? Well, the students from the Northwest FFA Chapter in Grand Island, NE know what it takes. They are busy all year long working on numerous activities.
They started the year off by helping out at Husker Harvest Days with the DTN booth. Numerous members were out helping by selling cold beverages and chips. They also served bratwursts for the Johnsonville Brat Factory. When the members had free time they enjoyed walking around the going to all the booths.

Harvest of Harmony parade was the next business to attend to for members. Many of the members were very excited for the parade because they hadn’t done a float for nearly five years. This was the first time for any of them to help out with the process of building a float. Members had fun building the float until judging day came. They were all nervous but in the end all of their hard work paid off. They won the school division and the spirit award.   Going out and walking in the parade was lots of fun because they all enjoyed interacting with all the people and handling out candy to he children.

Northwest’s FFA chapter was proud to send nine of its members to National FFA Convention. They also had three previous members earn the American Degrees.  The members had a lot of fun attending Nationals which was held in Indianapolis, IN. They were able to go on a few tours and go to many workshops and ceremonies.

Members have much more planned for the rest of the year. They are planning on going to many contests and conventions. They plan on attending as many workshops as they can to feed their minds. They have already gone to Livestock Judging and had a good turnout. They are waiting for all the final scores to come back to see if any of their teams qualified for state.
