Early Childhood Education Conference is February 27

Child care providers, preschool teachers, foster parents, teachers, parents and grandparents are invited to attend the “ABC’s of Child Care Conference” to be held Saturday, February 27 at the Phelps County Ag Center, 1308 Second Street in Holdrege.
Sue McMillin, a professional organizer and president of “With Time to Spare”, will give the keynote address on “Creating Order Out of Chaos-Strategies for Organizing Your Work”. Her presentation will give participants the skills and motivation they need to create an organized office or work space. Ms. McMillin will also present a workshop session on “Clutter’s Last Stand-How to Organize Your Home in 5 Simple Steps”.
Other workshop topics include: reducing clutter, stories and activities, body image and food attitudes, recognizing autism disorders, social-emotional wellness in infants, business practices, music for tots, bookkeeping, fun activities with paper tubes, policing germs, wiring infants and toddlers for success and more. The closing session titled “Finding Your Rainbows Everyday” will be given by Sally Hauff of Kearney.
The conference gives early childhood education professionals and foster parents the opportunity to receive six hours of continuing education credits towards licensing and professional development.
The conference is sponsored by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Extension, Central Community College, South Central Early Childhood Coalition, Trinity Child Care Center, Family Service Child Care Food Program, Phelps Memorial Health Center, Early Development Network and Nebraska Health and Human Services.
