Cedar Rapids FFA

]The Cedar Rapids FFA has been busy since the beginning of the summer. To start off our officer team went to C.O.L.T. Our officers are Jacob Ahlers, Sentinel; Derek Martinsen, Treasurer; Josh Buettener, Parliamentarian; Evey Choat, Secretary; Paige Hellbusch, Reporter; Scott Belitz, Vice President; and Trey Mogensen, President. Then two members Paige Hellbusch, and Evey Choat went to Range Camp. We also had a petting zoo for our community picnic, county fair in July and completed the summer by having a fun chapter tanking trip.

Then to start the school year we had a few competitions. We have gone to Range judging, IMPACT, and land judging. Our teams for range judging did quite well. The first junior team of Derek Marinsen, Ally Kennedy, and Amber Armatys got 22nd out of 46. The second junior team of Josh Buettner, James Noble, and Karli Hellbusch got 34th out of 46. The senior team of Evey Choat, Scott Belitz, Trey Mogenson, and Nicole Martinsen got 16th out of 28. Paige Hellbusch, Trey Mogensen, Evey Choat, Ally Kennedy, James Noble, Josh Buettner, Derek Martinsen, Jacob Ahlers, and Trent Braun all went to Land judging. Even though no one placed everyone did a wonderful job and tried his or her hardest.

Next, we are having our Fall Open house on November 15th where our labor auction and creed speaking will take place. Food sales start November 1st and will run through Nov 21st. Anyone who wants to place an order, please talk to any 7-12 FFA member.
