Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for Dec 19, 2008
Receipts: 1,619 Last Week: 3,638 Year Ago: 0
Compared to last week: Steer calves under 650 lbs sold steady to 2.00
higher; offerings over 650 lbs sold steady. Heifer calves under 600 lbs sold
steady to 2.00 higher; offerings over 600 lbs sold steady to 2.00 lower.
Yearling cattle not well tested. Demand good for all classes. Slaughter cows
sold 2.00-3.00 higher. Slaughter bulls sold steady to 1.00 higher in a light
test. Slaughter and feeding cows made up 32 percent of the run; 65 percent
feeder cattle with the balance Slaughter bulls and misc. cattle. Steers made up
46 percent of the run; 54 percent heifers. 52 percent of feeders over 600 lbs.
Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1: 450-475 lbs 108.00-113.00; 530-600 lbs
91.00-97.50; 600-700 lb calves 82.00-92.50; 700-800 lb calves 81.00-86.25; few
800-875 lbs 81.50-82.25.
Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1: 435-500 lbs 87.00-88.00; 500-600 lbs
84.00-90.50; 600-700 lb calves 75.00-82.75; 700-740 lb calves 76.50-81.50.
Feeding Cows: Heifers 850-950 lbs 80.00-82.25; Heiferettes 1065 lbs 70.00;
Three year olds 980 lbs 57.50; Young 835-950 lbs 48.75-51.00; Middle aged 900-
1350 lbs 41.00-46.50; few Aged 1025-1160 lbs 38.00-38.25.
