Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 12/17/2008
Receipts: 959 Last Week: 2391 Last Year: 903
Compared to last week: Steer calves and heifer calves sold 2.00 to 3.00
higher with lighter holiday receipt numbers. Demand good for today's
offerings. Greatest interest in cattle weighing between 600 and 700 lbs.
Several lots of reputation replacement cattle for today's sale. Today's
supply contained 37 percent replacement and feeding cows and 63 percent
feeder steers and heifers. The feeder cattle supply was comprised of about
52 percent steers and the balance feeder heifers and bulls. Near 88 percent
of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
Feeding Cows: Heifers 920-1140 lbs 73.00-81.00.
Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1 package 470 lb 111.00; 600-625 lb
calves 93.00-97.85; 670-695 lb calves 93.00-93.25; 700-775 lbs 91.00-93.10;
few 814 lb 93.00.
Medium and Large 1-2 couple 453 lb 109.00; few 550 lb 95.00; 860-890 lbs
86.00-87.50.
Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1 package 460 lb 97.00; 540-585 lbs
87.00-89.25; 645-695 lb calves 84.50-88.75; package 734 lb calves 84.25.
Medium and Large 1-2 package 717 lb 80.00.
