Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 12/17/2008
Receipts: 547 Last Week: 1180 Year Ago: 505
Compared to last week: Steer and heifer calves sold steady to 2.00 higher
in a very limited test. Yearling steers and heifers too limited for an
adequate market trend. Receipt totals light as we near holiday closures.
Today's supply included 3 percent replacement cows and 97 percent feeders.
The feeder cattle supply included 57 percent steers, 40 percent heifers and
the balance feeder bulls. Near 31 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
The next scheduled feeder cattle sale will be January 8, 2009.
Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1 package 369 lb 121.00; 515-580 lbs
92.50-94.00.
Medium and Large 1-2 package 294 lbs 119.50; few 485 lb 95.00; 545-560 lbs
89.00-91.25; 600-655 lb calves 85.00-87.50; few 743 lb 86.00; package 820 lb
84.00.
Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1 package 271 lb 98.00; small lot 354 lb
96.50; few 443 lb 90.00; package 526 lb 85.00; few 651 lb calves 84.00;
