Cattle Auction Report for 12/30/08
Receipts: 1308 Last Week: 0 Year Ago: 0
There was no sale last week for a price comparison of feeders;
however, compared to two weeks ago steers and heifers from 500 to 750 lbs
sold 2.00 to 11.00 higher with most of the increase on better quality
offerings. Demand was moderate to good. Slaughter cows were 9.00 to
10.00 higher than two weeks ago. Cows and bulls were 20 percent of
receipts. In the feeder supply, steers and bulls were 58 percent of the
run; heifers 42 percent. Near 46 percent of feeders weighed over 600 lbs.
Feeder Steers: Medium and Large 1 400-500 lbs 112.00-114.50; 500-
600 lbs 101.75-111.25; 600-700 lbs 92.25-102.00; 700-800 lbs 89.50-96.00;
800-900 lbs 88.75-93.85; 950-1000 lbs 84.75-89.85. Medium and Large 1-2
400-450 lbs 104.50-115.00; 500-600 lbs 93.25-107.00, thin 110.00; 600-
700 lbs 91.50-101.25; pkg 757 lbs 91.85.
Feeder Heifers: Medium and Large 1 400-450 lbs 96.50-99.25; 500-
600 lbs 88.00-96.75; 600-700 lbs 88.50-93.25; 700-800 lbs 84.25-87.00;
pkg 840 lbs 78.25. Medium and Large 1-2 350-400 lbs 85.50-96.00; 400-
500 lbs 85.00-98.00; 500-600 lbs 81.50-87.25; 600-700 lbs 80.00-88.00.
Feeder Bulls: Medium and Large 1-2 pkg 455 lbs 111.00; few 500-
600 lbs 85.00-94.50; 600-700 lbs 80.00-93.00.
