New Cambria- New Cambria Livestock Auction
Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 12/29/2008
Receipts: 510 Week Ago: 685 Year Ago: 440
Compared with the previous auction; feeder steers and heifers
steady on a light test. Slaughter cows 2.00-3.00 higher. Quality
attractive with several nice strings of calves offered despite the
light holiday week supply. Warmer weather has finally melted the
ice that was making lanes and back roads difficult to navigate.
Demand moderate and supply light. Cows and bulls accounted for
5 percent of the run and feeders 95 percent. In the feeder supply,
steers and bulls made up approximately 65 percent of the run;
heifers 35 percent; steers and heifers over 600 lbs totaled around
60 percent.
