Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for Tue 12/16/2008.
Receipts: 650 Last Week: 1925 Year Ago: 2000
Compared to last week; Stocker and feeder steers 1.00-3.00 higher.
Stocker and feeder heifers steady to 4.00 higher. Icy weather
conditions limiting numbers on the last sale of the year. Good
attendance of buyers and active on trade. Cattle in mostly medium
flesh. Receipts comprised of 65% steers,30% heifers with 24% feeder
cattle over 600 lbs.
Slaughter cows 2.00-4.00 higher. Slaughter bulls steady with very limited
offerings. Good attendance of buyers and active on trade. A total of 185 cows
sold with 55 percent to packers.
